North Penn-Mansfield Powers over Bucktail, 48-14

BLOSSBURG — The Bucktail Buck defense could not stop the North Penn-Mansfield (4-2) running attack as the Panthers ended the first quarter up 34-0 and won 48-14, ending the Bucks’ two-game winning streak.

Bucktail now 3-3 on the season will be looking for a good Homecoming game next week as they host Sayre (0-6) on Friday Oct. 6 starting at 7 p.m. The Redskins fell Friday night to Troy by a 42-14 count.

In the first quarter NP would waste no time as they would score at will making it 34-0 at the end of the first quarter. Even their first possession of the second quarter they scored quickly and making it 41-0. Bucktail would then start getting away from the running game and ride the arm of Richard Perry as they ended a nice drive to Logan Long for a touchdown. NP would answer right back and go in at halftime up 48-6.

Bucktail received the ball to start the third quarter and with the mercy rule in effect  the Bucks had a very good drive from their own 35 yard line. It resulted in a Tanner Riggle 8-yard touchdown and the two point conversion was good, Perry to L. Long.

In the fourth quarter Bucktail tried pulling on one more nice drive resulting on getting stopped within the five-yard line as the clock ran out.
