Lady Wildcats End 8 Match Run with 5-0 Loss to Hollidaysburg

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat tennis team has had a busy couple of weeks playing 8 matches in 11 days. A super tough task, but they took the challenge and emerged 7-1 for their effort. That lone loss came today to District 6 rival, Hollidaysburg sweeping the Lady ‘Cats 5-0.

The Lady Golden Tigers set the pace with Veronica Helsel getting past CM’s Jolee McCluskey, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles then Lady Wildcat, Kendall McCluskey fell to Hollidaysburg’s Jenee Delerme, 6-2, 6-1. Then Lady Golden Tiger, Payton Ruggery defeated Lady ‘Cat, Katherine Strouse, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

The tone didn’t change in the doubles side of the match with Hollidaysburg’s Paige Jodon and Chloe Love won 6-1, 6-0 over CM’s Natalie Brown and Jessica Piergallini at No1. doubles then it was the GT duo of Jenna Sheetz and Abigail Goodman defeating Lady Wildcats, Caitlyn Dale and Gianna Renzo, 6-0, 6-0 in the battle at No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Wildcats senior day honors for Jolee McCluskey and Katherine Strouse celebrating their contributions to the program.

The loss takes Central Mountain to 13-3 overall and 13-2 in the PHAC.

Central Mountain will now get some well deserved time off to prepare for their last regular season match on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 when they will host Mifflinburg.
