Jeffrey Sandusky Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Abuse Charges

BELLEFONTE – Jeffrey Sandusky, 41, of State College, on Friday entered guilty pleas to 14 child sexual abuse charges in Centre County Court.

The adopted son of convicted pedophile Jerry Sandusky, Jeffrey Sandusky made his guilty plea one week before a trial was scheduled to begin.

According to an announcement from Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller, the terms of the plea guarantee that Sandusky will undergo 3 to 6 years of state incarceration, but allows the judge to impose as much as 4 to 8 years of state prison in her discretion at the time of sentencing. The Commonwealth will seek a 4 to 8 year state prison sentence due to the nature of the crimes charged. As a result of these child sex convictions, upon sentencing, Sandsusky will automatically become a highest Tier, (Tier III) Sex Offender in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Tier III Offenders, like Sandusky, must register their home, work, and school address as well as his vehicle information with the Pennsylvania State Police every 3 months for the rest of his life. Sandusky will also be evaluated by the Sexual Offender Assessment Board to determine whether he meets the criteria to be a Sexually Violent Predator as defined by the Sex Offender Registration Act.

Rockview state police began an investigation when victim #1, a 16 year old minor known to Sandusky, reported that in March of 2016, Sandusky sent the victim text messages asking for nude and sexually explicit photographs. Although the victim refused to send Sandusky the photographs he demanded, he became more insistent, badgering her to comply over a two day period. The minor eventually told her mother and showed her mother the text messages. Investigators successfully recovered the text messages, confirming the victim’s report. During that investigation, victim #2, also well known to Sandusky, disclosed to police that Sandusky solicited her through text message to perform a sex act on him several years ago when she was only 15 years old. Parks Miller said both girls viewed Sandusky as a trusted authority figure.

Parks Miller said, “While we were fully prepared to proceed to trial, today’s guilty plea to all charges ensures a significant prison sentence for Defendant’s solicitation of child sex crimes with two minors that once completely trusted him. This outcome also ensures the victims need not suffer the trauma and re-victimization of testifying at trial and importantly, the Defendant will have to comply with strict sex offender registration requirements for the remainder of his life. We are happy that these girls can move forward and experience a life with adults that deserve their trust.”
