Shik’s Tilford Brothers Level Central Mountain, 48-7

SUNBURY – Central Mountain had no answer for the Tilford brothers from Shikellamy High school as the Braves pummeled the Wildcats 48-7 Friday night.

Gabe Tilford, the senior quarterback, dropped in touchdown passes to younger brother Lucas Tilford, a junior wideout. One went for 46 yards, one for 84 as Shik raced to a 34-0 first half lead and coasted home.

But Gabe Tilford was not done; he later picked off two CM passes and returned them for touchdowns of 32 and 45 yards. The Shik defense scored four touchdowns in all.

For Central Mountain it was a long night, not getting on the scoreboard until sophomore Rocco Stark went in from 38 yards out, Austyn Carson’s extra point setting the final at 48-7.
Carson finished with an 8 for 14 passing night with the two interceptions. Izzy McCann made his first appearance and led receivers with 4 catches for 50 yards.

The Wildcats will travel to Bellefonte next Friday.
