Three Applicants So Far for Bald Eagle Township Supervisors

LOCK HAVEN — Qualified Bald Eagle Township residents have one week remaining in which to apply to fill the two township supervisor vacancies. So far three township residents have applied to replace the brothers Jim and Jack Bechdel who resigned last month under a state Ethics Commission cloud.

The township is down to one sitting supervisor in Ken McGhee so per state law Clinton County President Judge Craig Miller has the responsibility to fill the vacancies. He earlier this month issued an order specifying the replacement procedure. The deadline to apply is next Friday, June 30.

County court administrator Don Powers said Friday three township residents have so far submitted the appropriate letter of interest to the court. He said it is his understanding that several others have expressed interest and prepared letters to that effect but reminded township residents they must be mailed to the “Office of the Court Administrator, Clinton County Courthouse, 230 East Water Street, Lock Haven, PA 17745.” He did not identify those who have applied to this point.

Applicants must be a registered voter in the township and a resident there for at least one year.
