LOCK HAVEN – Downtown Lock Haven will be abuzz this coming Saturday, June 24, for the annual Best of Clinton County Summer Festival & Parade, slated to kick off at 10 a.m. and run through 3 p.m.

The parade will kick off at 1 p.m., beginning at Henderson Street and traveling up East Main Street and back down East Church Street.

As in years past, food and vendor booths will line the streets, music will be featured and activities will be plentiful. There will be event staples, as well as a handful of new additions.

“New this year is our partnership with the Masonic Temple,” explained Natasha Gorham, Downtown Lock Haven Inc. “We will be hosting a LuLaRoe Market in the Masonic Temple where they are hosting their Open House, which will have food for sale and tours of the building and we will have multiple LuLaRoe consultants.”

Also new is a twist on the raffle, according to Gorham.

Entrants to the Best of Clinton County 50/50 Giveaway will have an opportunity to win half of the proceeds collected. Tickets will also be drawn for other prizes, such as gift cards to local restaurants and establishments and gift baskets donated by local businesses. Tickets are $2 each or $5 for three and are on sale now at the Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. office at 205 E. Main St.

Millbrook Playhouse actors will be back again this year to do a few numbers from Seussical the Musical, now playing on the Millbrook Playhouse Main Stage through July 1.

The Main Street parking lot, adjacent to Addie’s, will be closed and filled with children’s activities and treats from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church annual Strawberry Festival. Grove Street will also be closed to host children’s activities, including bounce houses.

“The goal each year for the Best of Clinton County is to draw people into downtown, have them explore the town and embrace some community pride,” Gorham explained. “I always look forward to seeing the sidewalks full of people walking around and the streets full for the annual parade.”

There are still vendor spaces available, Gorham noted. To learn more about the event or participating, call the Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. office at 570-748-1576 or email Gorham directly at ngorham@lockhaven.org.
