Hanna Seeks Second Term as Coroner

Zach Coroner PhotoLOCK HAVEN – Zach Hanna has announced that he will be running for re-election for the position of Clinton County Coroner.

Hanna was elected in 2012 and began his first term as coroner in 2013.

“In the first three years of my term, I have handled over two hundred death investigations while being able to consistently remain under-budget in all three years, protecting tax payers’ dollars. In addition, I have implemented new software that has greatly increased the efficiency of the office as well as added to the preservation and security of our files; but, there is more to do. The opioid and heroine epidemic our county faces is an area I strive to make a difference in. Many programs have been developed over the past several years to address this urgent problem. I pledge to continue to work with those programs to bring awareness and educate the youth of our county.”

Hanna feels that he not only has the experience and education in understanding death investigations, but has the training and compassion to aide families as they go through a very difficult time in their lives. He has had the opportunity to work with and develop relationships with our local law enforcement, the district attorney’s office, emergency personnel and many of the great people of Clinton County.

“Experience is key to success in any professional endeavor, but I think that experience is of the utmost importance when it comes to serving as coroner. The several hours of field experience and continuing education I have obtained over the past several years gives me great confidence in being able to serve the people of Clinton County in the manner they deserve.”

Hanna is a graduate of Central Mountain High School. He attended Lock Haven University before transferring to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he graduated with a degree in Funeral Directing and Embalming.

He is a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association and Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. He also serves on the boards of the Keystone Central Foundation and Advocates for a Drug Free Tomorrow. Hanna currently resides in Woodward Township with his wife, Michele, daughter, Sawyer and their two dogs, Bailey and Bria.
