Three WIldcats into Regional Semifinals
ALTOONA – The Central Mountain Wildcats have three wrestlers one win away from a trip to next weekend’s PIAA tournament in Hershey and seven more still alive in the consolations after day one of the Northwestern Regional tourney in Altoona Friday night.
Geo Barzona (36-2), Seth Andrus (31-9) and Richie Thompson (31-10) all won their first two matches handily to move into Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. semifinal round.
Wrestling resumes at 10 a.m. Saturday with a first consolation round which will see seven ‘Cats trying to get to the Giant Center the hard way.
