Wildcats Pull Out Another Win
HERSHEY – The Central Mountain wrestling team is in fact a team in every sense of the word.
Not once but twice on Friday the Wildcats relied on virtually everyone in their lineup to post two consolation round wins at the PIAA team championships.
Friday morning it was a come-from-behind 33-26 win over Central Dauphin. Friday night it was more of the same. Trailing Cedar Cliff 21-15 with four bouts to go, CM took all four to pull out a 34-21 win.
Colton Weaver started the comeback with a fall at 145 pounds. Asher Corl followed with a deck job at 152; then a decision from Tanner Weaver and a major from Brandon Miller and the Wildcats had their 34-21 win and a consolation third round dual with District 10 champs Erie Prep Saturday at 9 a.m.
Other Wildcat wins Friday night came from Caleb Turner, Johnny Shreffler, Geo Barzona, Cody Coleman and Seth Andrus.
The Wildcats are now 16-1 on the season. The tourney is down to eight teams at this point. CM would have to win three straight to finish third.
