The clerk was the only employee on duty at the time of the robbery, the chief confirmed, noting the woman was not injured, “just shook up.”

After the clerk handed the robber an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left.

Police have not released information regarding the robber’s direction or method of travel following the incident; however, Winkleman said police do not believe the robber had an accomplice.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, a black mask and white, construction-style gloves, according to police.

“He was covered up pretty well,” Winkleman said of the robber. “We’re not putting a lot out at this time because we’re still in the early stages of this (investigation).”

State police are assisting Pine Creek Township police with processing the scene and evidence collection.

Police ask anyone who may have information on the incident to contact the department at 570-753-5672.
