Wildcats Edged by Selinsgrove, 57-56

cm-basketballSELINSGROVE – Central Mountain (5-3, 2-1) was on the road tonight at Selinsgrove keeping stride with the Seals for most of the game but came up 1 point short at the end, falling 57-56 in a hard-fought contest.

The game started out evenly with both teams eager to set the tone but neither squad could outpace the other with the score knotted at 16 after one quarter. In the second quarter, the Seals managed to pull ahead slightly to hold a 26-29 advantage at the half.

In the third quarter, CM stepped up their defense to earn 19-9 period and hold a 45-38 lead heading into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Selinsgrove returned the favor to earn a 19-11 edge that gave them the narrow margin of victory.

Scoring was very even for the usual suspects on the Wildcat roster with Justin Neff string 15, while Kyle Everhart, Matt Storeman and Brody Baker each scored 12 points. Wyatt Bumbarger scored 4 points and Colin Jones scored 1.

Next up for the Wildcats is a home contest with Shamokin on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017.
