Central Mountain Second at Conestoga Valley Tourney

cm-wrestlingLANCASTER — The wrestling teams from Exeter and Central Mountain High Schools went one-two at last year’s Conestoga Valley Holiday Classic and the recent King of the Mountain tournament. And after Thursday’s day one of this year’s Conestoga event, the teams are first and second one more time.

Going into the Friday morning semifinal round Exeter is on top with 118 points, the Wildcats second with 113, Bellefonte in third place in the 26 team event with 98.5 points. Both Central Mountain and Exeter have six wrestlers in the semifinals, Bellefonte with four.

The Wildcat semifinalists are:

Johnny Shreffler at 106 pounds, advancing with a fall and a decision;

Geo Barzona at 120, advancing with two falls;

Seth Andrus at 126, with a major decision and a fall;

Tanner Weaver at 170, with a technical fall and a fall;

Caleb Turner at 182, with a fall and a decision;

Mahlik Houtz at 220, with a major decision and a fall.

Still alive in the consolations and assured of placing somewhere between third and eighth place are: Colton Weaver at 145; Richie Thompson at 285.

Bellefonte’s semifinalists are Brock Port at 145 pounds and Chase Gardner at 152 pounds. Bellefonte has five wrestlers still competing in the consolations.

Jersey Shore is in 16th place with 62.5 points, the Bulldogs with one wrestler still in the field in Max Mason, a semifinalist at 220 pounds.

Wrestling resumes Friday at 10:30 a.m., the championship and consolation finals set for 2 p.m.
