Four Injured in Friday Night Crash on Coudersport Pike

GALLAGHER TOWNSHIpsp-logoP – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision last Friday evening on Coudersport Pike, state police report, and alcohol may have played a role.

The crash occurred about 10:20 p.m. Dec. 23 as Donald W. Bowman, 43, of Lock Haven, was driving north on Coudersport Pike (Route 664), and Brenda K. Yonkin, 50, of Galeton, was traveling south, Tpr. Jeffrey Hildebrand of the state police at Lamar reported in a release.

As Bowman attempted to negotiate a right curve in the road just west of Bryans Lane, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado he was driving traveled into the southbound lane of travel, striking the front passenger side of Yonkin’s 1998 Toyota Camry.

Bowman’s vehicle continued southbound, rolling onto its driver side and back onto its wheels, coming to a rest facing north.

Bowman, who is being investigated for suspicion of driving while under the influence, sustained suspected moderate injuries in the accident.

Yonkin and her passenger, Megan J. Byrnes, 22, of Mill Hall, sustained suspected serious injuries.

In addition, an unnamed 4-year-old boy from Mill Hall who was traveling with Yonkin and Byrnes also sustained suspected minor injuries in the accident.
