Raiders Take Down Bucks

bucks-footballMONTGOMERY – It was a long game and a long season for the Bucktail Bucks as they lost to Montgomery 43-0.

Bucktail looked good in the first six minutes of the game. On their opening possession Bucktail was moving the ball as they posted four first downs in that opening drive. Kenny Winkelman and Blake Cannon were gaining yards by the hand full each carry.

Bucktail’s success would turn around quickly after having a 1st and ten on the Montgomery 25 yard line. Bucktail would have two big penalties in a row, then a bad snap over the punters head as Montgomery would take over the possession on the Bucks 15 yard line. The Red Raiders would score on just three plays 7-0 Montgomery.

Bucktail’s success would turn completely sour the rest of the night. Turnovers became a big factor also for the Bucks as they would lose most of them. The Bucks did recover at least two of about ten of those fumbles on the night. There was a bright spot in the third quarter on defense. Mitch Intallura intercepted a pass in the end zone.

Montgomery would put it into the mercy rule in the fourth quarter as it was 37-0 with 8:18 left in the game. The only problem that Montgomery was showing on the night was their extra point kicker. He was 1-7 on the night. Bucktail finished the season without a win.
