HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, said he was proud to welcome the Keystone Major Little League 11-12 Year Old All-Star Baseball Team to the hall of the House yesterday.

“It was a pleasure to recognize the outstanding achievements of this extraordinary group of young men from the heart of our great state,” said Hanna.

The 2016 season started with over 1,800 teams comprised of 10, 11 and 12 year olds from all across the country. The Keystone Major Little League 11-12 Year Old All-Star Baseball Team ranked 2nd overall. Hanna called it a huge accomplishment and said players should be very proud of themselves.

The Keystone Major Little League represents Beech Creek, Castanea, Loganton, Lock Haven and Mill Hall – five communities in Hanna’s district. The team won the hearts of their hometowns and the hearts of all Pennsylvanians with their record-setting 17-3 season and captured the State Championship title against Warwick 11-8.

Hanna said talent, enthusiasm, sportsmanship and appreciation of their fans were present during every game throughout the season. Parents, fans and volunteers also all contributed to the success of this team.

“Although the team was one win shy of competing in the Little League World Series, having fallen short of a win in the Mid-Atlantic Regional title game, our hearts are filled with pride in Clinton County and across Pennsylvania,” said Hanna. “These extraordinary young men have truly demonstrated the best of what our region and Pennsylvania as a whole has to offer.”

The following individuals were recognized during House session: Coach Cole Hanley, Manager Ben Falls, players Kaden Falls, Cayde McCloskey, Cy Probst, Brady Bendik, Nate Helms, Josh Keibler, Aidan Major, Aaron Miller, Blade Myers, Ryan Pentz, Ryan Thompson and Nash Welch.

The team had an opportunity to tour the Capitol, meet with Sen. Joe Scarnati and experience the Senate and House chambers before Hanna presented the All-Star team with official citations and recognized them in the hall of the House.

“Today I was very pleased to welcome the Keystone Little League Major All-Stars Team to the Pennsylvania Senate. This team of young athletes finished their season with a stellar record of 17 wins and 3 losses,” said Sen. Scarnati, “It was a pleasure to spend some time talking to these young men on the Senate Floor, where I presented them with a well-deserved Senate Citation.”
