Hollidaysburg Outlasts Lady Wildcats 2-1

cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain fought valiantly but came up short in a 2-1 loss to visiting Hollidaysburg Thursday night at Malinak Stadium.

Central Mountain struck first when Sadie McCaleb caught the Lady Tiger keeper out of position and drove the ball to the back of the net at the 14:34 mark to take a 1-0 lead for the Lady Wildcats.

Hollidaysburg didn’t get on the board until there was only 84 seconds remaining in the first period to knot the score at 1-all at intermission.

The Lady Tiger added their final goal early in the second period scoring at the 3:13 mark.

Most of the game was played at midfield with both teams making attacks only to be turned away when the respective defenses would stiffen.

Hollidaysburg did hold a bit of an edge leading in corner kicks 6-2 and 6-3 in shots on goal.

Alyssa Dickey had 3 saves at goal for the Lady ‘Cats.

Central Mountain will nest travel to Midd-West next Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016.
