CM Topples Bellfonte 3-0

cm-volleyballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain (5-10) came out on top with a 3-0 win over visiting Bellefonte, but it wasn’t at all easy.

In all three games, the Lady Wildcats had early advantages but allowed the Lady Raiders to climb back to challenge the outcome, only to have Central Mountain re-establish their will to prevail by narrow margins. Central Mountain took the first game 26-24 and 25-25 in the second effort followed by a 25-21 win in the third game.

At one point in the third game the Lady ‘Cats held a 19-12 lead at one point but Bellefonte battled back to tie the game at 19-all before CM finished out the contest 25-21.

On the night, Pamela Gunsallas led the way offensively with 11 kills followed by Vanessa Soo with 9 kills and 5 aces while Elaina Eckly added 2 kills and 5 aces. Madalyn Bashore had 11 assists on the night.

On the defensive side, Maegan Miller piled up 20 digs with Kelsie Buckwalter collecting 9 digs and Eckley credited with 8 more.

Central Mountain also celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Night at the game with a Pink Out and fund raisers to help cancer research and awareness.

The Lady Wildcats will next host St Joseph’s Catholic Academy on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016.
