cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Going in it looked like a tossup on paper, the Central Mountain boys’ soccer team (3-3) hosting downriver rival Jersey Shore (3-3).

But the visiting Bulldogs left no doubt who was the better team on this Tuesday night, scoring early and often on way to a 5-1 takedown of the Wildcats.

Jacob Butzler opened the scoring for ‘Shore off an Aaron Hennigan assist at the 30:53 mark. 28 seconds later Colton Miller scored the first of his two goals on the night to make it 2-0. The Bulldogs added a third first half score from Micah Haag, putting it at 3-0 for the visitors.

Central Mountain was more competitive in the second half and got on the board on Jeremy Rosamilia’s score off a rebound at the 15:06 mark, Matt Storeman with the assist. Storeman had two good scoring opportunities on the night, knocking shots off the crossbar and side post.

Jersey Shore answered back with goals form Connor Anderson, off a corner kick at 12:39, and a bullet at the 3:41 mark from Miller, his second of the night, to put the final at 5-1 Jersey Shore.

The Bulldogs peppered Wildcat goal keep Brody Baker with 15 shots, Baker credited with seven saves. Jersey Shore goalie Calvin Lesser faced five shots and made two saves. ‘Shore had the game’s only corner kick.

Central Mountain (3-4) travels to undefeated (8-0) Lewisburg on Thursday while Jersey Shore, now 4-3, will visit Shikellamy (4-3) Thursday.
