Mansfield slips by Bald Eagles 75-74
MANSFIELD – Ra’eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) scored 16 points and was one of four Bald Eagles, who finished in double-figures scoring, but it wasn’t enough as the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team was edged by one, 75-74 at Mansfield University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East thriller.
Lock Haven (10-10, 6-10 PSAC) got a 3-pointer fromLamin Fulton (Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti) at the buzzer, but it wasn’t enough to help the Bald Eagles hold off Mansfield (5-15, 2-12 PSAC). The loss was the fifth in a row for LHU.
Hunt had eight rebounds to go along with his team-high 16 points and Fulton finished with 13 points.
Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. Easet) was 4 of 6 from 3-point range and finished with 12 points on the day.
Cole Renninger (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) added 10 points, five rebounds and two blocks.
Shawn Church (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) and Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) each netted eight points in the loss.
Walter and Fulton dished out five and four assists, respectively.
LHU returns to action on Wednesday, February 3 on the road at Kutztown University (7:30 p.m.).
