Late Rally Earns Wildcats Third Place

cm-basketballALTOONA – Trailing 39-27 going into the final period, Central Mountain, led by Kyle Everhart’s 12 point fourth quarter effort, outscored Mifflin County 24-7 in the quarter to capture third place in the Altoona Holiday Basketball Tournament 51-46.

The scoring didn’t come easy early on for both squads with neither breaking into to double digits as the Huskies led CM 9-5 after one quarter of play.

Then both teams picked up pace in the second stanza with Mifflin County holding a 23-16 advantage heading into halftime.

The third quarter was a continuation with the Huskies and Wildcats nearing duplicating the second quarter, with MC leading Central Mountain 16-11 in the third, 39-27 overall.

Everhart scored a total of 18 points to lead the Wildcats with Alex Garbrick adding 13 for Central Mountain. Brody Baker, 5; while Landon Breon, Cole Reeder and Justin Neff all scored 4 points each. Wyatt Bumbarger scored 2 and Wyatt Koch scored one point from the foul line.

Next up for the Wildcats is a home Contest on Saturday , Jan. 2, 2015 with Midd-West.
