ALTOONA – Central Mountain stumbled in the second quarter just enough to allow East Stroudsburg to edge the Wildcats 51-42 in the first round of the Altoona Holiday Tournament.
The Wildcats held their own only trailing East Stroudsburg 18-15 after one quarter … but fell behind 13-7 in the second stanza to give the Timberwolves the edge they needed and a 31-22 lead at the break.
CM matched East Stroudsburg point-for-point in the second half each team scoring an additional 20 points in the half to close out the scoring 51-42.
Leading the effort for the wildcats were: Alex Garbrick, 11; Kyle Everhart, 9; Brody Baker, 8; and Cole Reeder and Wyatt Bumbarger each scoring 6; Wyatt Koch had 2 points.
Central Mountain willow face the loser of the Altoona vs Mifflin County game to play for third place.
