Wildcats Off to Good Start at Conestoga
CM Holds Solid Second Place in Tournament
LANCASTER – Central Mountain had a good first round advancing seven wrestlers in the winner’s bracket to the quarterfinal round and six remaining in action in the consolation rounds. CM did not have an entry at 120 pounds.
Geo Barzona was the lone Wildcat with a No. 1 seed at 113, while Isaac Porter at 195 and Hunter Weaver at 220 were seeded at No. 2 for the tournament.
Recording falls in their first action of the tournament were: Geo Barzona (113), Seth Andrus (126), Colton Weaver (152), Brian Andrus (170), Isaac Porter (195) and Hunter Weaver (220).
Although, some CM wrestlers that had difficulty in the Round of 16, many bounced back nicely in the consolation round. Logan Long (132), Asher Corl (138), Tanner Weaver (152) and Brandon Miller (170) all recorded pins in the wrestleback round.
Exeter Township leads the pack in the team standings with 63 points followed closely by the Wildcats in second with 55. Fellow District 6 schools, Bellefonte and Huntingdon are tied for fourth place with 48.5 points.
