RENOVO – There is little new to report in the search for the armed bank robber who hit the Santander office on Erie Avenue in Renovo just after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Borough police today issued a release with more information on the robber’s appearance. They emphasized the race of the perpetrator is unknown. Their description says the suspect is 5’10”-6’0” tall, a male, race unknown, slender in build, wearing a dark blue hoodie, blue jeans, dark sunglasses, leather gloves, a black face scarf and a black Jansport backpack.

Police said he was armed and displayed a revolver and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash; the suspected get-away vehicle, a stolen dirt bike, was located after a police pursuit.

Borough police said assistance was provided by state police, the Lock Haven police department and the state Game Commission.

As reported on therecord-online yesterday, authorities were concentrating their search in an area of the Summerson Mountain Road. A witness earlier had told therecord-online he saw a person dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask run across Erie Avenue and through the bushes on the east side of the old Renovo rail shops, then take off on a motorcycle in an easterly direction.
