Chris Ruble on the Floating Stage

LOCK HAVEN – The Chris Ruble Band is this Sunday’s attraction at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater and Floating Stage as part of the Lock Haven Summer Concert Series. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m.

Born in 1984 in the small country village of Reedsville, PA, Chris Ruble began singing with a busy traveling gospel ensemble, In Spirit, at the age of four. He has been playing and continuously fine-tuning his piano skills since the age of five and grew up learning and loving all kinds of music, especially, country music.

Now becoming one of the most recognized, awarded, talented, and fastest growing artists in the Pennsylvania region, Chris is loving what he does and has his sights set on a full career of singing and performing Nation-wide. His stage shows are energized, passion filled, and full of great music with originals and covers. Venues re-book Chris each year, stating that the show is one of the best country shows they can find, and that wherever he goes, his loyal fans follow, and he  makes piles of new fans. He loves his audience and wants them to really enjoy themselves. As stated numerous and often times by show attendees, Chris Ruble’s vocals are some of the best vocals you’ll hear live.

An accomplished pianist and guitarist, Chris plays keyboards and guitar in his performances as a country music artist and Inspirational vocalist. He writes and publishes his own music, and has been singing professionally for ten years. Chris’s self-titled original album was released and is now available.

Chris has a large following of country music fans in central Pennsylvania where he sings the latest country hits as well as his own original music. A life-long Christian, he is a widely acclaimed contemporary Christian and country gospel singer, who also performs countless concerts in many Pennsylvania churches and programs.

Chris has a dynamic five piece band that travels the road with him. Their stage shows are full of energy, passion, and original and hit songs. The band is stacked with experience in playing and performing. Each member is dedicated to giving their professional best when they perform and when they are off stage. Band members include: Mike McCartney – Lead Guitar; Dusty Ronk – Lead Guitar; Gary Miller – Bass Guitar; Steve Zeigler – Drums; and Trace Fisher – Background Vocals/Tambourine.

As a widely acclaimed true performer and someone who has the right tools to make it in the business, Chris, whether doing a solo show or with his band, never disappoints. Bellefonte Community Band at Triangle Park

LOCK HAVEN – The Bellefonte Community Band will be performing this Friday in Triangle Park beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Bellefonte Community Band has been a staple in the region since 1984. They are a volunteer group consisting of dedicated musicians of all ages from the surrounding Bellefonte and State College communities. Their purpose is to share their love of music, and have fun while doing so.

The group has a new director this year, Joshua Long, a graduate student in music and adult education at Penn State. His love of music and teaching it to adults makes him a great fit or the organization. Under his direction, the band presented its first ever formal spring concert in April.

The Bellefonte Community Band plays a variety of music from traditional (“Stars and Stripes Forever”) to modern (selections from “Frozen” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”). So, whether you are playing in the band or a member of our audience, there is something for everyone!

The band performs in about 15 concerts a year, in venues as diverse as the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, South Hills School of Business, Bellefonte Arts and Crafts Fair, Centre Crest, Talleyrand Park, and many more.

The group is always looking for new members. Anyone may join by simply attending practices from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from February to May and September to December at Bellefonte Area Middle School. If you’d like to join, please contact us at bellefonteband@gmail.com. For more information about the band, visit their website at www.belleftoneband.net.

The public is invited to attend this free summer concert. Seating will not be provided, therefore, the public is asked to bring a lawn chair.
