Free Outdoor Movie Series Opens July 11

LOCK HAVEN – Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets and get ready for the City of Lock Haven’s Free Movie under the Stars!

The first movie of the season will be “Miracle”. Shown on a 16 foot inflatable movie screen at Triangle Park, the movie will begin at approximately 8:45 p.m. Admission is free to the public. Free popcorn will be provided courtesy of the Clinton County Women’s Center; donations will be accepted.

Based on a true story of the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, Kurt Russell stars as hockey coach Herb Brooks, who assembles a U.S. team of underdogs. No one thinks they can make it, as they are up against the previously undefeated Soviet hockey team. Despite the odds, Brooks leads the U.S. team to victory. As the 1980 Winter Olympics happen to coincide with the Cold War, the event is interpreted as patriotic. Also starring in the movie: Eddie Cahill, Patricia Clarkson, Noah Emmerich, Sean McCann, and Kenneth Welsh. The movie is rated PG and runs 135 minutes. Release date: 2004.
