Cody Dolan Pro Career on Hold

WHITEFISH, Mont. — The fledgling pro baseball career of Central Mountain High School grad Cody Dolan has come to an end. Dolan was off to a great start playing with the Glacier Outlaws in Whitefish, Montana.

But the independent Mount Rainiers Professional Baseball League folded last week, throwing Dolan and all the squad members in the 6-team league out of work. Dolan had begun well with the Glaciers, league statistics showing his .433 batting average good for third in the league.

But the league ran into financial trouble and is now defunct. A family member said Dolan and some teammates were heading east, hoping they would get a call for another baseball opportunity. Meanwhile Dolan has accepted a non-baseball job in Florida through a contact he made in Montana. The family member said Dolan continues “to hope for a phone call” to get another shot in the pros.

Dolan, an outfielder, put up solid numbers with the Outlaws. He was 13-for-30 through his first seven games, including one double, a homerun and six RBIs.

Dolan was an all-state first baseman at Central Mountain High School but has had an injury-plagued baseball career since then, including stops at several college programs, most recently Winthrop University last year. Again healthy this season, he awaits his next baseball opportunity.
