Breakers Call Up Defender Sam Lofton

bost-break-logoBOSTON – The Boston Breakers announced May, 28, 2015 that defender Samantha Lofton and midfielder Chanel Johnson have been named to the roster as amateur call-ups.

Lofton was selected by the Breakers in the third round (20th overall) in the 2015 NWSL College Draft. A 2014 First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association honoree at James Madison University, Lofton started 74 of the 80 games she appeared in for the Dukes, finishing with six goals and 12 assists.

During the 2015 NWSL preseason, the Lock Haven, Pa. native registered one assist for the Breakers. It came on March 25, 2015, in a 5-0 win over the Jamaican Women’s National Team. Lofton, 23, played in all four of Boston’s preseason games.
