Kathleen Ann Gentzyel, 83, of North Bend passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Bucktail Medical Center.

Born on May 1, 1931 in Hyner, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lena Mellick Prebble.

Kathleen was a 1949 graduate of Renovo High School.

On May 9, 1952 she and her husband, David Gentzyel, were the first to exchange their wedding vows at the Hyner United Methodist Church.

Throughout her years, Kathleen was employed by Sylvania in Emporium as well as by Summerson’s Motel in North Bend.

She was a lifetime member of the North Bend Methodist Church.

Kathleen was also a member of the Chapman Township Ladies’ Auxiliary.

She enjoyed making crafts for family events, baking, and crocheting. Most of all, though, Kathleen cherished spending precious time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Ray (Linda) Gentzyel of Enterprise, AL; two daughters: Gail (Ray) Long of North Bend and Susan (Tom) Gray of Lock Haven; a brother, Merle Prebble of Renovo; a sister, Priscilla “Toot” Gentzyel of North Bend; six grandchildren: Tracy Shady, Paul Risley, Chad McGregor, Trey Kanouff, and Devyn and Alyssa Gentzyel; and nine great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the North Bend United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Conway officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven.
