Born February 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Madaline Walizer.

She married Ray E. Irwin on August 18, 1949 at Snydertown Lutheran Church, who passed away March 21, 2008.

Jean graduated in 1945 from Walker Township High and Williamsport Beauty School.
She was a beautician, housewife and mother, raising 4 children until the youngest started school, at which time Jean worked as a Teacher’s Aid for Keystone Central School District, working with handicap children. She was a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years at the Dunnstown United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Choir and Ladies’ Group. She played the piano for Sunday School and Church, and really enjoyed playing at home for friends and family, and especially over the Holidays.

Jean enjoyed EVERYTHING, but most of all enjoyed her family! She was a devoted daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was best known for her pleasant personality, generosity, and most of all…..her constant, beautiful smile.

Elzey (Butch), both of Milford, DE, 8 grandchildren, Christine, Michelle and Jessica Irwin, Marcy Mckee, Alyson Urian, Sherri Anne McKee Rhodes, Brent (Heather) Elzey and Kris (Liz) Thompson, 5 great-grandchildren, a brother, Elery H. Walizer of Ulysses, PA, and a cousin who was like a sister to her, Betty Henderson, of Nashville, TN. In addition to her husband, Ray, Jean was predeceased by a son, Ken Irwin, in March of 1996.
