The Bucktail High School Student Council has once again decided to recognize our outstanding students with the Student Spotlight of the month. Each month, teachers are asked to nominate a boy and girl who best represent the academic qualities and values of a Buctail Buck. Below are the seventh grade winners for January, along with some comments from their teacher on what makes them outstanding students.

Myka Poorman: Myka’s favorite subject in school is reading class and her favorite thing about school is playing sports. She plays both softball and basketball for Bucktail. Myka plans to become an Interior Designer when she finishes school. Ms. Nevling, her Language Arts teacher, had the following to say about Myka. “Myka always gives 100% effort to everything that she does. She comes into class with a positive attitude and likes to volunteer. She is always on task and gets things done in a timely manner.”

Liam Dwyer: Liam’s favorite subject in school is physical education. He enjoys playing basketball for the Buctail Bucks and he hopes to continue his love of athletics by becoming a sports reporter after he finishes school. Liam’s favorite teacher, Ms. Nevling, had the following to say about him. “Liam comes in with a positive attitude at all times. He is always cracking jokes to make people smile. Liam also gives all of his work his best effort. He is sure to make up any missed work and turns in all assignments on time.” (Ms. Nevling, 7th Grade Language Arts)
