Wildcats Best Mustangs 51-47 (Video Report)

cm-basketballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Wildcats used a 16-6 third quarter effort to establish a lead and managed to hold off a spry Midd-West squad for a 51-47 win.

Both teams struggled offensively early on to the point iw was becoming doubtful if either team could break into double digits on the score board. Midd-West’s did mange to build 10-8 advantage by the break.

In the second quarter, CM managed to keep pace with the Mustangs in a near even effort that gave Midd-West a 25-22 going into intermission.

Then it was the third quarter where the Wildcats measured their shots more carefully and took full advantage of trips to the foul line that gave them a 34-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Central Mountain managed to stretch their lead to as much as 12 points in the fourth period stifling the Mustang’s efforts. It wasn’t until late in final two minutes that Midd-West put together a threat to close the gap that failed to change the outcome by the time the clock expired.

For the Wildcats, Wes Jolly and Alex Garbrick led the way with 14 and 13 points respectively. Wyatt Bumbarger dropped in 7 points while Ty Meeker, Kyle Eberhart and Landon Breon each added 5. Brody Baker added 2 points.

Next, Central Mountain will host Milton on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
