Woman Killed in Crash near Howard

HOWARD TOWNSHIP — An elderly Howard woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash just west of that Centre County borough Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Routes 26 and 150. The victim was identified as Lorraine McAulay, 82.

Rockview state police said she was driving a car north on Route 26 and made a left hand turn onto Route 150 and into the path of a north-bound truck operated by Dominick Duso, 63.

McAulay was pronounced dead at the scene by Centre County Deputy Coroner Debra Smeal.

Duso was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for what police said was treatment of moderate injuries.

Responders included the Howard Fire Company, the Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Company and a medic from Mount Nittany Medical Center.
