Carl E. “Butch” Connelley, 67, of 5 McElhattan Ave., Castanea, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Lock Haven on February 16, 1947, the son of the late Raymond and Anna Englert Connelley.

Butch was a 1965 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On September 5, 1987 at the Castanea United Methodist Church, he married the former Rosemary Masorti who survives.

Butch worked for West Branch Oil and Champion Auto Parts before going to work as a custodian for Keystone Central School District, retiring in 2003 after over 28 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of the Castanea Fire Department, serving as President for several years.

Butch enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Buckwheat.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amy (Carl) Lohman of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Kyle of Texas and Mikayla and Jaden of North Carolina; a brother, John of McElhattan; a sister, Elizabeth Rupert of Millheim; a special niece, Jamie Connelly (Tom) Winslow of Lock Haven; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles “Sonny”, Jim and Gerald “Jerry” Connelley; and a sister, Roseanne Connelley.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Castanea Fire Department.
