Michael J. Considine, Sr., 81, of 2032 Sugar Run Rd., Mill Hall, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014.

He was born in Lock Haven on September 10, 1933, the son of the late Joseph J. and Eva Quilan Considine.

He was a 1952 graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic High School.

Mike was a Veteran of United States Army, serving from 1954 to 1956.

On July 3, 1954 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven, he married the former Mary Barzona who survives.

Mike worked at Piper Aircraft for a year before going to work for Hammermill Paper Company, retiring after 40 years of service. He had also worked as a custodian for Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Church during the Hammermill strike.

He was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Mike was an avid hunter, enjoying the time he spent with his sons and grandsons at his camp. He was constantly on the move from morning to night, usually working outside in his garden, cutting wood or taking his great grandchildren on four wheeler rides. He also enjoyed going out to eat and always looked forward to his family’s annual vacation to the beach. Most of all, Mike loved spending time with his family and was a very caring and loving husband for over 60 years.

In addition to his wife, he survived by two sons, Michael J. (Sandy), Jr. of Mill Hall and Robert P. of Lock Haven; a daughter, Diana M. (Chuck) Blazina of Lamar; two nieces, Susan Kramer and Nancy Edelstein; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Muthler.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 311 W. Water St., Lock Haven, Pa 17745 with Deacon Chip Young officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lock Haven.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Pa 17745.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Annie Halenbake Ross Library.
