BELLEFONTE – A Blanchard woman Monday night was found guilty of providing the drugs that killed a Central Mountain Mountain High School senior in March of 2013.

After a day of testimony a jury in Centre County Court came back with the guilty verdict against Kimberly Sue Heverly, 27; she had been arrested in January of this year and charged with four criminal counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver illegal drugs.

The prosecution maintained it was Heverly who sold the drugs to Devin Stacey, 17, who died from a drug overdose not long after he had completed his 2013 senior season as a standout wrestler for Central Mountain.

Heverly has been incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility since her arrest in default of $150,000 bail. She was returned there Monday night to await sentencing from Judge Pamela Ruest which is scheduled for Nov. 14.

State police had alleged Stacey purchased the drug Suboxone from Heverly on March 13 and died that night after ingesting the drug.

According to the police criminal complaint, Dalton Richner, a friend of Stacey’s, said the victim had become distraught over the ending of a relationship and had begun experimenting with drugs.

Richner testified in Centre County Court he, Stacey and an acquaintance, Antonio Ventura, had provided $5 to Heverly for the Suboxone, which they shared.

The police report had said Heverly told them her 3-year-old son was home and asleep at the time of the incident. She claimed to police that Richner and Stacey had stolen the drug.
