The Devil is In the Details

MACKEYVILLE – Wednesday’s big event at the 42nd Annual Clinton County Fair for many 4-H and FFA members was the Sheep Show.

To get ready for the show, there is plenty to do to shear, clean and prepare the sheep so that every detail has been met in order to catch the judges eye. This “fitting” is a lot of work but can pay high dividends if done well.

But it isn’t all work and toil at the fair, there is plenty of fun to be found as well.

Following the Sheep Show, the arena was used for human activity as Charlie Benner of Selinsgrove was on hand to teach the youngsters (and young at heart) the fine American tradition of square dancing.

Though, some of the participants may have felt like they had two left feet in the beginning, they soon caught on and enjoyed learning the steps and were soon kicking up the saw dust in the arena as they celebrated good times with good friends and family.
