Beech Creek Drops Unity 8-4

leg-ba-logo2CLEARFIELD – The Beech Creek Cricket Senior Legion team is still alive in the Region 7 tournament with a 8-4 win over Unity on Monday.

After a sluggish start and down 4-0 in the fourth inning, the Crickets mounted a slow but steady offensive climb that ended in a 8-4 win.

Ken Heverly threw the first five innings for Beech Creek while Evan Kinley finished out the last four innings, earning the win.

At the plate, Clayton Butler contributed two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored. Bryce Hanley pounded out three hits, a double for an RBI and a run scored, while Ethan McGill added a 3-for-4 effort with three singles and a sac fly that soared a run.

Next up, the Crickets face Bedford at noon, Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
