Richard J. “Dick” Long, 69, 37 Left Branch Rd., North Bend, PA died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA

Dick was born Dec. 31, 1944 in Renovo, PA the son of Ethel Drabic Long who survives in North Bend and the late Joseph Q. Long who died in 1981.

On Sept. 26, 1970 he married Candy Winkelman who survives at home.

Dick had worked at Piper Aircraft, United Chem-Con, various drilling rigs and had retired from Hammermill Paper Co. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo, PA and he loved spending time with his family, enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Dick is survived by three sons, Rick Prindle, Erie, PA; Brian (Heather) Long, North Bend, PA and Joseph Long, Renovo, PA, four daughters, Laurie McCauley, Orlando, FL; Margaret DeWolf (Todd Gentzyel) and Debra (Paul) Risley both of North Bend, PA and Mary (Jeremy) Zuback, Renovo, PA, one brother, Ronald (Francis) Long, Emporium, PA, 16 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are numerous Nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Long who died in 2004

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tues., July 22, 2014 at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 975 Huron Ave., Renovo, PA with Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. Interment was held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner, PA.

Friends were received in the church from 10 AM until time of the services.

The family suggest memorial contributions to the Improvement Fund of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the Bucktail Medical Center.
