Betty J. Chatham Daley, 94, formerly of 504 W. Main St., Lock Haven, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Elmcroft Assisted Living of State College where she resided and was well loved by the staff for the past nine years.

Betty was born in Lock Haven on June 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Fred L. and Ella M. Johnson Chatham.

She was a 1938 graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended Lock Haven University where she met the love of her life, Stanley E. Daley.
On February 4, 1942, she married Stan and shared that marriage for 63 years until his passing on February 10, 2005.

Betty worked at Grossman’s Clothing Store in Lock Haven prior to her marriage. She then became a homemaker and a loving and devoted mother of her three children.
Betty was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church of Lock Haven.

Betty and Stan were members of Belle Springs Golf Course. They shared a love for golfing and enjoyed traveling to different courses across the country. They also enjoyed a love for sports and were always in attendance for their sons’ and grandsons’ sporting events.

Betty is survived by two sons, Steve E. Daley of Jenkintown and Thomas L. (Julie Hall) Daley of State College; a daughter, Susan M. (Joseph, Sr.) Hanna of Lock Haven; six grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Daley and Joseph, Jr., Brian, Sean and Stephen Hanna; and two great grandchildren, Shannon and Caitlin Hanna.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter who passed at birth, Jane Chatham Daley, and a cousin, Alice Fredericks, who was raised by Betty’s parents and was like a sister to her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Tanya Heatwole officiating. Burial at Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven will take place privately.

Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Covenant United Methodist Church of Lock Haven or Grane Hospice Care of Hollidaysburg.
