Thunder on the Mountain Tourney Set

11:45 a.m. Jersey Shore vs. Mifflin County

2 p.m. consolation game

4 p.m. championship game

The field:

Mifflin County Lady Huskies (6-0) – defending District 6 champs, coached by Jack McCurdy; Thunder on the Mountain runner-up a year ago. Off to a 6-0 start in the Mid Penn League Commonwealth Division, led by returning senior starting pitcher Shelby Lyter (5-0); stunned Central Mountain in district championship game a year ago.

Jersey Shore Lady Bulldogs (7-1) – defending District 4 champs, coached by Chris Glenn; finished fourth at Thunder tourney a year ago. 6-0 start in Heartland Conference; coming off 4-1 win over rival Loyalsock (5-3), Rebecca Caputo picking up the win.

DuBois Lady Beavers (3-2) – defending District 9 champs, coached by Shawn Deemer; defending Thunder champions; 3-2 start marked by two late inning losses, 4-1 to Central Mountain on April 14 and 6-5 in 11 innings to Williamsport last week; led by twins Cheyenne and Sierra McKee. Raegan Hanna was 3-5 with two doubles and an RBI in loss to Williamsport.

Central Mountain Lady Wildcats (8-0) – District 6 runners-up in 2013, coached by Dave Peters; 13-7 a year ago, third place at TOTM. Rebuilt squad off to flying start, led on the mound by senior pitcher Rachael Shady, 8-0 in eight starts. Well balanced hitting (.353 team average) led by Bree Hilty and Avery Shaffer at .526 and Moriah Lindsey at .385.
