James “Jim” W. Condo – Obituary

ObitArtJames “Jim” W. Condo, 62, passed away peacefully at his home on April 18, 2014, surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

Born June 14, 1951, Jim graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1969 and joined the Army and National Guard, where he served his Country from 1970-1973. He is a Vietnam Veteran and received the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action in 1971.

He returned to Lock Haven and married his “better half”, Debra J. Condo on August 9, 1973. Together, they raised their daughters Stacy L. Englert and Jamie R. Nicoloff, sacrificing many luxuries for their daughters’ well-being. Jim became self-employed when he opened Condo’s Auto Body in 1985, which served the greater Lock Haven community for 28 years.

Jim was a very independent, honest and stubborn man who not only worked for but earned everything he had in life. He enjoyed Nascar, maintaining his lawn and garden, and quiet evenings with his wife. His greatest achievements are his two daughters and his four grandchildren, all of whom adore him.

Surviving are his wife, Debra, of 39 years, daughter Stacy (Steve) Englert of Lock Haven and granddaughter Hannah; daughter Jamie (Shaun) Nicoloff of Michigan and grandchildren Spencer, Soren and Emerson. He is also survived by his Aunt Hazel Brown, whom had a large hand in raising him; mother, Mary Lamey; sister, Donna Dale; step-siblings, Wes Bonnell, Annette Bonnell and Jay Lamey; and many loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Chad; his in-laws, Marianne and Alan Barner, and David Nestor; and step-father, Ray Lamey.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Bill Powell officiating.
