Hate Posters Removed from Lock Haven’s Hill District

LOCK HAVEN — An unknown party this week posted hate posters in the city’s hill district and by Friday all had been removed.

Lock Haven police had been advised of the postings and city code officer Cyndi Walker had been provided a copy before they were removed, apparently by nearby residents. Walker said city legal staff had determined the postings are protected by the First Amendment right to free speech.

The posters bore a www.order15.com website. A check of the site indicated it appeared to be a European-based white organization espousing a separation of the races. The posters had appeared locally in the wake of a white supremacist confrontation with opponents in Charlottesville, VA last weekend.

No one locally has stepped forward to take responsibility for the placement of the posters.
