Robert “Bump” Brungard

Robert “Bump” Brungard, 66, of Lock Haven passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born on May 15, 1951 in Blanchard, he was the son of the late Pete and Dorothy Miller Brungard.

Bump was a 1969 graduate of Lock Haven High School and later earned a degree in Law Enforcement from Lycoming College.

Over the years he was employed in various positions including Manager at Bottorf Shoe Store, Supervisor at Champion Auto Parts, a Police Officer for Woodward Township, a bartender for numerous clubs in Lock Haven, and finally in security at Assets Protection where he worked until this past June.

On June 22, 2002, he married the former Deborah Brown who survives.

Bump attended Liberty Baptist Church, Blanchard.

He was a member of the Lock Haven Moose, Sons of Italy, and the Jaycees where he served as a United States Ambassador.  Bump was also a former member of the American Legion, VFW, 40 & 8, and the Castanea Fire Company.

Bump enjoying making meatballs at the Sons of Italy and often could be found volunteering at parties there.

A favorite time for him was working the pizza stand with the Jaycees at the Labor Day Regatta which he looked forward to every year.

Bump loved watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.  He also enjoyed shooting pool.

In addition to his wife, Deborah Brungard of Lock Haven, he is survived by his children: Chad Brungard of Milesburg, Dennis R. (Carla) Caprio, Jr. of Mackeyville, Rickie (Trish) Worden of Mackeyville, and Jaimi (Brad) Gaines of Howard; his grandchildren: Becca Brungard, Kyle Brown, Hunter Gaines, Kyra Caprio, Jade Confer, Haden Heichel, Mason Worden, and Austin Worden; and numerous great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald “Boomer” Brungard.

A Memorial Service for Bump will be announced at a later date.
