Court to Hold Memorial Service for Richard Sweeley

LOCK HAVEN – Clinton County President Judge Craig P. Miller has announced that the Court of Common Pleas will hold a memorial service on Thursday at 1:30 PM for long-time county officeholder Richard Sweeley, who passed away July 1, 2017 at the age of 96.

Richard Sweeley was first elected Treasurer of Clinton County in 1954 and held that position for one term before running for and winning election to the post of Prothonotary in 1960. In 1974 he was appointed to the newly created part-time position of Court Administrator which he held alongside his position of Prothonotary. In all, Dick Sweeley dedicated 28 years to the betterment of the citizens of Clinton County.

Judge Miller invites any interested persons to join him and Judge Michael F. Salisbury along with retired Clinton County President Judges Richard N. Saxon, Jr. and J.
