Wagner Leads Jr. Crickets past Jersey Shore, 14-0

BEECH CREEK – It took a couple of innings for the Junior Crickets to get the offense rolling along on all cylinders, but once they hit their stride they handed visiting Jersey Shore a 14-0 five-inning loss.

Beech Creek scored a lone run in the second inning followed by 7 more in the third and another 6 runs fourth inning.

Leading the way in the batter’s box it was Rocco Stark, Zane Probst and Trey Gentzel each hitting a double and a single with Caleb Shade and Evan Conklin pounding out a pair of singles. Ross Glossner, Chase Payton, Colin Bauman and Payton Johnson all contributing valuable base hits along the way.

Defensively, it was Colton Wagner setting the tone by striking out 7 ‘Shore batters, walking 2 and allowing only o1 hit in five inns of work.

Beech Creek advances to the next round of the American Legion District playoffs to face the winner of the Williamsport vs. State College game on Wednesday, July 12 at 5:30 on the home field.
