Keystone 50/70 All-Stars Cruise to Section 3 Title

BEECH CREEK – The Keystone Intermediate 50/70 All-Stars picked up right where they left of utilizing their solid hitting technique to pound out another one-sided victory over Danville for a 24-2 win to claim the Section 3 title.

The bulk of the onslaught was performed in the first inning. Cayde McCloskey went 3-for-3 with a pair of homers and a solid RBI bunt single. Aaron Miller had also had 2 dingers and Aiden Major had a double and a homer with Kaden Falls had 2 solid base hits. Brady Bendik also had a homer with Kayden Fries recording two single while Lane Porter and Bradon Confair each stroking out a base hit. In the bottom of the first inning, Major got the call to start on the mound and used only 14 pitches to retire the side in order, striking out 2 Danville batters in the process.

In the top of the second inning, it was more of the same for Keystone. Homers from Major and Confair along with base hits from Bendik, Friese, Miller, Myers, McCloskey, Falls and Major gave Keystone a commanding 22-0 lead heading into the third inning.

Keystone would add one run in the third inning off a solo homer by Miller and another run in the fourth resulting from a walk for Falls and base hits for Bendik and Ryan Thompson to close out their scoring. Nash Welch also had a base hit for Keystone.

Danville did respond scoring single runs in the third and fifth innings.

Miller took over on the mound in the second inning and closed out the game yielding 6 hits, 1 walk and striking out 5.
