penndot-alertLOCK HAVEN – PennDOT late Friday afternoon reopened to through traffic a rebuilt Jay Street from Veterans Bridge to Paul Mack Boulevard. Parts of the two block section had been closed for six weeks as part of a $5.4 million contract with Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc of State College.

There is one more phase up-coming near the Clinton County Courthouse: the four-way intersection at Water and Jay Streets will be closed June 5-9. That work will involve closure of Veterans Bridge and a detour will route traffic along Route 150 to Dunnstown and down Mill Hill Road. Meanwhile improvements will continue along Paul Mack Boulevard into Lock Haven; no detours are expected with the boulevard work.

Meanwhile PennDOT announced Friday more roadwork for Clinton and Centre Counties:

A two-county roadway resurfacing project next week that will bring improvements across more than 47 miles of roadway in Centre and Clinton counties. Work is expected to start on Monday, May 15. When work begins on Monday, the first work site will be on I-80 in Centre County at mile-marker 164 between the Bellefonte/161 interchange and the Route 1010 overpass. This work will take place on Monday, May 15. Other work will begin after Memorial Day.

PennDOT said the project will extend the life of roadway surfaces and improve the ride quality on 18 state routes—four in Clinton County and 14 in Centre County.

A daylight alternating traffic pattern will be in place, controlled by flaggers. Motorists should be alert for flaggers and workers in and near the roadway. Drivers can expect short travel delays.
