CM Claims Second Straight Win over Braves

cm-tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The second verse was almost the same as the first for the Central Mountain boys’ tennis squad on Wednesday. In their second meeting in as many days, the Wildcats picked up another win dropping Shikellamy 4-1 in Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference.

Central Mountain now moves to 5-3 on the season and today, head coach Pete Wert was able to mix up the lineup for the ‘Cats to offer a different look.

At No. 1 singles, CM’s Raahi Chapla took care of Shik’s, Jacob Mouery, 6-4, 6-2. Then Wildcat Matthew Marasco dropped the Brave’s Kyler Balliet, 6-1, 6-1. Central Mountain’s Micah Brinker who normally sees action in doubles, moved over to No. 3 singles and triumphed over Shikellamy’s Chris Timblin, 6-0, 6-2.

The Wildcat duo of Morgan Talbot and Thomas Cygan teamed up to drop Josh Parsons and Cameron Crowley of the Braves, 6-2, 6-4. Shik’s Elijah Taylor ad Darell Lyles got past Central Mountain’s Kaden Powers and Gavyn Walker, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Central Mountain will now host District 6 foe, Mifflin County, tomorrow, Thursday, April 13, 2017.
