Green Dragons Edge Wildcats 3-2.

cm-tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain boys’ tennis team speed their 2017 season hosting Lewisburg in a Pennsylvania Heartland Conference contest.

The Green Dragons (1-0) edged the Wildcats (0-1) 3-2 on the day by taking two of the singles matches and splitting the doubles with the hosts.

Carter Casimid, Lewisburg, defeated CM’s Matthew Schubach, 6-0, 6-3 in the battle of No. 1. At No.2, Wildcat Rahhi Chapla took Lewisburg’s Drew King to a tiebreaker finish eventually falling to the Green Dragon 6-2, 5-7, 4-6.

In No. 3 action, Central Mountain’s Matthew Marasco put up a 7-5, 6-2 win over Lewisburg’s Peter Kinnamon.

Then at No. 1 doubles, Michah Brinker and Thomas Cygan earned a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win over the Green Dragon duo of Peter Vernango and Jake Rothman.

In the battle of No. 2 doubles, Lewisburg’s Nick Jacobson and Joel Shooter toppled CM’s Yash Adroja and Morgan Talbot 6-3, 6-3.

Next action up for the Wildcats is another home match with Mifflinburg on Monday, March 27, 2017.
