TAMARACK — Renovo area Dominion Transmission union members have been informed that a tentative contract agreement has been reached between the company and Local 69 United Gas Workers of America.

Local 69’s Facebook page posted on Monday of this week a “negotiation update” which said, “As you know by now the company and union have reached a tentative agreement…” The posting contained some particulars of the proposed settlement, full details to be provided at a later date.

Next up, according to the union, is a representative council meeting on Tuesday, March 7; stewards will decide at that time as to whether the agreement “will be sent to the membership for a ratification vote.”
The tentative agreement was confirmed by Dominion, through this statement released to The Record on Tuesday:

“Local 69 of the Utility Workers Union of America, United Gas Workers, Dominion Hope and Dominion Transmission have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement. Local 69 has commenced the ratification process. Further details will be forthcoming. We remain committed to providing safe and reliable service to our Dominion Hope and Dominion Transmission customers.”

The tentative accord follows renewed negotiations commencing last October after there was a brief company-imposed lockout in September of last year. At that time the company said the union had failed to take a pending offer it described as “equitable and extremely reasonable” to the membership for a vote.

Some 50 UGWA area workers are employed by Dominion.
